Flipo / Privacy
Privacy
In short: Flipo never sends your files anywhere and an account is optional. Below are the details of what the app and the website do and don't do.
Which files are processed
Only the ones you drag into the menu or drop into a magic folder. Processing happens on your PC; files are never uploaded to any server.
What goes online
Only the update check: Flipo asks whether a newer version exists and sends its own version number. You can turn this off under “About”.
What's stored on your PC
- Settings, presets and folder rules.
- A list of recent actions so you can undo them. It's cleared when Flipo exits.
Add-ons
LibreOffice and text-recognition languages are downloaded from their official sites, and only when you click “Install”.
Website account
An account is optional. If you create one, we store your email, your name (if you add one), the sign-up date, the list of linked computers and counters of processed files. Sign-in codes are stored only in hashed form and expire after 10 minutes. The site sets a single technical cookie for signing in and uses no ad trackers. You can delete your account from the account page at any time and the data is removed right away.
Analytics and ads
There are no ads. Without an account Flipo sends no statistics at all. If you link the app to an account, it sends only counters: how many files you processed and into which formats. File names and contents are never sent.
